About

The Autism Reader is a Sensitivity Reader service, offering reports and sensitivity reports that specialises in autistic characters. Don’t think this is telling you off about writing autistic characters. The reports enable autistic characters to come across as authentic and give writers new ways to think about how they write these characters. No two autistic people are the same and the reports on offer are helping the writers understand this better.

So, without further ado, let’s introduce the face behind The Autism Reader!

Abbie Allen is an autistic writer. She has been writing novels and scripts for over ten years and has a passion for sharing her insights as an autistic person with her fellow writers.

She has a BA Scriptwriting from the University of South Wales, Cardiff, graduating in 2017. Her degree taught her formatting for Film, TV, Radio and Theatre scripts.

You can check out her previous work at her website here.

Abbie has lived experience of being an autistic female, having multiple members of the family being autistic/neurodiverse and being a carer for a family member. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Whether you need another set of eyes, a little guidance, someone with a lived experience or someone with attention to detail, The Autism Reader is for you.
